Madrid: Shopping


Endless possibilities for everyone. Shops, malls and street markets in Madrid a world of almost infinite possibilities when it comes to shopping.

Madrid is presented as a great temptation for people of all ages to shop, with its many shops and malls, many of them open all day without interruption, both in the core and the periphery. Across the capital can highlight five shopping areas: Salamanca, Chueca, Centro, Princesa and Cuatro Caminos.

Hours: Most shops and shopping centers are open from 10.00 to 20.30 or 21.30. Traditional shops open from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 16.30 to 20.30.

Sale: usually begin in the second week of January until the end of February for the winter season, and from 1 July to late August for the summer season.

How to pay: most people pay in cash or card, showing your passport or identity card.

Tax Free: residents from outside the European Union, for purchases over € 90.15 entitled to reimbursement of Value Added Tax (VAT).
